Emotional Control

Emotional Control

Whilst it is not possible to truly exert control over your emotions it is possible to understand them and as a result try to minimise the disruption to your climbing that can happen when you trigger an emotional response. In essence it comes down to us having two brains the old emotional part that reacts through experience to stimuli and the newer and slower brain where we can think thing through based on rational thought.

This might resemble some form of phobia or certain climbing situation that seems to always stimulate the fear response or other negative emotion, even when you rational brain is saying everything is OK. As such identifying these issues is the first step to being able to address the issues that it causes.
