Body Position

Another fundamental of climbing technique is the Body Position. For the beginner we are going to start by focusing on a side on body position to the climbing surface which instantly reduces the leverage on our feet and shifts the climbers centre of gravity closer to the wall. Both will make even just standing in certain positions much easier. However, as you progress and move from slabs to walls to steeper rock, you will find those habits of a sideways body position will continue to help you.
