The Fear Test

Mon 18 Feb 2019

iCoach Climbing teamed up with Climber magazine to develop a 'fear test', that helps diagnose common fear and anxiety problems in rock climbers. The article is was published in June 2013. I have now digitised the test so you can do it on iCoach Climbing. Like all icoach's free tools, you need to be registered and logged in to use them as you resutls are stored online.

The test explores several ways in which anxiety can effect you and measures the level and direction of those thoughts and feelings that fear induces. These include:

  • The Physical Effects of Adrenalin (Somatic Anxiety)
  • Images of Failure
  • Negative Self Talk
  • Problems with Focus
  • Confidence Problems
  • Social Anxiety Issues
